ALIMOSHO RESIDENTS ENDORSE HON KEHINDE JOSEPH FOR 3RD TERM IN STATE ASSEMBLY

- HIS PERFORMANCE IN 6YEARS HAS COVERED THE PREVIOUS 20YEARS OF GOVERNANCE LAPSES -- ONIKOTUN.

It was a loud and long applause of encomium for Hon Kehinde Olaide Joseph , which culminated into the unanimous decision of Alimosho residents to endorse him to return to the Assembly to continue representing them in 2027.

All this followed the observations of Hon (Prince) Bisi Yusuf that Kehinde Joseph had performed so excellently enough to earn a third term ticket if Alimosho people would want to enjoy uninterrupted pace of development going on in the Constituency. Prince Bisi Yusuf, also a former three-term legislator is the Apex Leader of the ruling political establishment in Alimosho.

In adding his voice of testimony to the quality of representation the Host has offered, the Onikotun of Ikotun, HRM Oba Gbadabiu Asiwaju, said Hon Joseph's 6years in governance so far had covered the 20years lapses the Constituency serially experienced before his turn.

All this came at the decade edition of the annual Constituency Stakeholders Meeting for the Alimosho Constituency 02, held at the Igando/Ikotun LCDA Secretariat on Thursday. The event, which always holds simultaneously in the 40 constituencies of the Lagos' 20 local governments, is designed Partly as a time to give account of stewardship reports by members of the Assembly back to their various constituencies. Hon Joseph is the representative of the Alimosho Constituency 02.

Dignitaries present at this year's edition included all the First Class Obas of the Kingdoms making up the conurmbation of Southern Alimosho geopolitics described as Alimosho O2, comprising Egbe-Idimu and Igando/Ikotun LCDAs. The monarchs included the Elegbe of Egbe, Oba Ashimiu Olorunfunmi Dada Otta; Onigando of Igando, Oba Gbadamosi; and Alagodo of Agodo.

For the ranking ruling party members seated were the State Vice Chairman, Lagos West, Chief Sunday B. Aboyade; Another three-time legislator and immediate predecessor of the Chief Host, Hon Aramide Omotayo Oduntan; Executive Chairman of the Host LCDA, Hon (Com) Lasisi Akinsanya; and Executive Chairman, Egbe-Idimu LCDA, Hon (Prince) Idris Balogun. Others included the LGA Party Chairman, Igando/Ikotun, Chief Ikuologun; the Executive Vice Chairman, Egbe-Idimu LCDA, Hon Tayo Ayinde; and Executive Vice Chairman, Igando/Ikotun LCDA, Hon Adewunmi Dada.

Speaking at the event to justify what may literally be described as his endorsement 'motion', Prince Bisi Yusuf said he was particularly interested to attend the Kehinde Joseph's gathering to have a first hand account of his stewardship. And having seen all in justifiable evidence, it would be good for the Constituency to consider him for "continuity" after this term.

He said: "My father, the Onikotun, when we give birth to a child and the child is good, let us hold the child with grip. The Bible speaks in parable. The Bible speaks more in adage and proverbs. Please look at this person I'm holding (raising up the event booklet), Right Hon (Dr) Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa; if Agege dropped him at the time he was useful for them, Agege will not have the developmental strides it has today. Go and walk all the streets of Agege -- the nooks and corners of Agege today. You will see that everything is okay simply because when Obasa was good, the people of Agege gave him the good backing when he needed it to continue. They made him to get continuity.

"I am not afraid to say it (here). By the special grace of God, if we see a very valuable legislature, let him continue to do it. This is not because of his own personal gain, but because of the infrastructural development he will bring to the constituency. That is what you have seen here today.

"So, when we see such like this, I that is the Apex Leader of Alimosho; I that is talking to you here, I belong to Alimosho Constituency 01. That is where I ought to be today. But because I had seen what this man is doing as a legislator per excellence. When I was there, I knew what I did. And it was because I did well that they gave me the third term. I won't say beyond that, Kabiyesi. This person that has done well, let us grab him tightly. God will support us".
