IFEOLUWA CDA PROMISES MASSIVE VOTE FOR PRINCE BALOGUN/TAYO AYINDE

Story by Toyo C Ngem & Bankole Akinlaye
The Chairman of Ifeoluwa CommCommnitynity Development Association (CDA) and his entire members of Executive Committee have given their assurances that the community was set to give their votes to the Candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Egbe-Idimu LCDA in the July 12 Local Government Elections in Lagos State. Prince Idris Balogun and Rotarian Tayo Ayinde are the chairmanship and vice chairmanship candidates of the party respectively.
The CDA, Alhaji Abdulwasiu Adedokun (aka Baba Meto), made this promise during interactions with the Civics Weekly magazine this morning in company with some members of his executives. He said it should not be out of place to describe Ifeoluwa CDA as APC community because of the Progressives mind set by which the CDA had sustained its developmental strides. At the chats were the First Vice Chairman, 2nd Vice Chairman, Mr. Babatunde Olatunbosun; the Assistant Secretary, Mr. Tayo Akinde.
The CDA, according to him, had been around since year 2000, ostensibly that it came with the birth of this democracy and so far in the series of election cycles in Nigeria, whether general elections or local government elections, "Ifeoluwa's choice of party to vote had always being the Progressives that is called APC today,", he said.
As the Chairman explained, though the administration of this executive is still at infancy, having just been inaugurated in March this year, it was clear that the direction they intend to go is to establish a very close relationship with the grassroots government in a quid pro quo mutually beneficial way.
He said "Somehow, I think it's God's doing that this new executive body of Ifeoluwa Ccame in at about the same time a new government will be taking over the administration of Egbe-Idimu LCDA. It is a coincidence that really aligns with our mission to effectively work with the local government because that is the only way we can achieve the promises of development we gave to our people and we believe that it was on the basis of that promises they elected us because it was a keenly contested election. Having that goal in mind, we felt we did not need to wait until we meet the APC Candidates before we should begin to work for him.
"Immediately after the Primary Elections and the results produced Oluomo as the Candidate, we began our campaign earnestly for him too. If you noticed it at the main gate on your way into the street, you will see the big banners. Along side that we agoing start sensisation of our residents to understand why we should be on the side of ruling party", the First Vice Chairman added.
Ifeoluwa CDA comprises of about five streets with a mix of enlightened class of residents. Though almost a landlock in Isheri Olofin town along the Governor's Road, it has a strategic location that offers a campaign strategy for their choice of candidate. Strangely, it is only at the CDA gate that any awareness of election activities could be noticed along the entire stretch of the Highway on the side of Egbe-Idimu could be noticed.
