In spite of the current upheaval rocking his political leadership in Alimosho and across the State Mandate leadership, Alhaji Abdullahi Enilolobo appears confident that all is well and that this year's Eid-Kabir Sallah will hold in the usual big form it used to be in the past. This was the information made available to Civics Weekly magazine by a source close to the Arida Hegemony.
It was gathered that as late as 7pm yesterday, Monday, the 2nd of June, dispatching and distribution of live rams and cows to the homes of some All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders and community elders continued from his Arida home. "This is the way he had been doing it in the past, so we should not expect this year's to be different", the source said.
It may be understood that the recent APC Primary Elections for the coming local government elections in Lagos State did not leave the embattled party chieftain with convenience of power he used to wield as the 'Apex Leader' of the Alimosho progressives. The primaries, which was largely condemned to be marred with irregularities in many parts of the state, did not even give him the privilege to influence who becomes the councilor of his Ward. "It came as a Tsunami to sweep off his powers", another source told this magazine.
In a figurative canvass of rumour daubed with a mix of muddy truth, it was revealed from reliable quarters that this pariah fate Enilolobo is being subjected to was an exclusive "instruction" of the party's National Leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu , supposedly vested in the hands of another erstwhile member of the "Oranmiyan Dynasty" to implement. Not a few party members however believed that if Mr. President would have to hate Enilolobo so much as such to go all out in calling for his head, a very rare character to pin with Tinubu's large heart for forgiving people, it must have involved something more than meet the eyes to raise the President's hackles

Speaking to this, it may be recalled that just a while back at the last Federal Constituency Meeting to be convened by the embattled Alimosho APC leader, the discerning ultimate objective of the meeting was a wholesome imprecations at Hon Bisi Yusuf, who has become the safe pair hands of Asiwaju to clip wings and tie limbs for the throwing of Enilolobo into the spell of outcast. The basis for this was the accusation of anti-party Bisi was said to have levied against him. "He lied to Mr. President that we are working for the Labour Party", Enilolobo said. He added that the allegation had cost him a distraught because "in politics, anti-party is a capital offence in equivalence to murder in the general world".
Right or wrong, those who spoke to Civics Weekly over this believed that Bisi could not have done anything extraordinary by whatever he could have done in getting the trust of Mr. President. What could be an irony is that a greater number of party faithful hold the possibility that he could have as well acted evilly while discharging the President's 'assignment'.
Now up the creek and without a paddle, not a few would want to believe that Enilolobo should be in a 'mourning' mood over the loss of power. Feelers from Arida does not seem to support this. "He's himself and vibrant, looking bright always", the source told Civics Weekly. Another source, an APC chieftain from Surulere, Alhaja Ajala said "the size of cow Enilolobo gave me last year was far bigger than the one bought by my Diaspora children. That is how he used to do it every year and I know Allah is still with him to give me this year again".
There is no doubt that Enilolobo has been the bomb in grassroots politics and he has been adequately rewarded in go down a bomb with it. So, to many he should be able to afford all the luxury of his wish. "Surely, he paid his due but that is not yet complete because he still has much of such due to pay since he still has many lives to touch through politics", one of his accolades said.
